Hill Country Craftsman now serving Angel Fire and surrounding areas
Raised in the trades and the family land business, Ottmers Architectural Trades and Ottmers Agricultural Technologies, also known as O.A.T., exemplify the pride of craftsmanship and doing it once of a different era. One of our german ancestors was the first farmer to purchase a tractor in Fredericksburg. Mr. Kneese's early adoption of new technology proved a boon to the entire community as he rented himself out as a tractor operator to other local farmers. We have always embraced the best of appropriate technologies on our ranches, farms and in our craftsmanship.
In small rural communities, the rancher or farmer often took on off season handy work for extra income. People knew each others families and places, and who was good at woodworking or windows and doors. Accountability for your word and your work was a way of life. At OAT, we find that these values are shared with the homeowners we serve.
Our family resettled from the Hill Country and our West Texas ranch to Northern New Mexico full time in 2018. We had been going back and forth, summers in Northern New Mexico and winters in West Texas since 2011. We earned our living standing up abandoned farms, upgrading ranches with needed innovations and applying our craftsmanship to very special homes.
